Krippner Road Assn Inc.

History:  When forestry-logging trucks first started using the dirt road that was Krippner Rd, a Resident’s crisis meeting in the Puhoi Hall was advised by the Moirs Hill residents’ group that Krippner Rd residents should become an Incorporated Society in order to formally deal with Rodney District Council.

Residents of Krippner Rd (and all *enclosed roads) had discussions and a Constitution was created, formally signed and registered.

The Constitution was designed to:

  1. Avoid the need for formal meetings for Residents (Many have long commuting distances and lengthy working days); but to
  2. Ensure that every Resident had an opportunity to agree to each and every decision that affected Krippner Rd and all *enclosed roads ; and to
  3. Provide Consensus decision-making – defined as a minimum 80% support if matters were irresolvable without voting; ensuring that
  4. Residents have an immediate legal identity should there be a perceived threat to any aspect of their lives in this district.

Any group of residents are thus able to formulate a decision that they would like everyone to agree to – and then having the Chairperson send advice to every Resident and ensure that this advice is in the hands of all residents for a minimum of two weeks.  If any resident objects in writing then the matter cannot be finalised until everyone has been consulted and every effort made to ensure consensus.  No Resident who agrees with the motion needs to do anything.

* "Enclosed Roads = Side roads that involved residents having to use Krippner Rd.

Meeting Dates:
The only formal meeting is the legally required AGM held on the first suitable Sunday in September. For this meeting, all business and proposed motions must be in the hands of every Resident for a minimum of two weeks prior to the AGM.
All Residents of Krippner (and enclosed) roads have the right to Membership.
